Fridays from Home

Welcome Summer

Ok, so it’s not really summer, but it feels like it today so I took advantage of working from home and made the most of the lunch hour by playing outside.  And what’s a more enjoyable toy to little ones than a simple garden hose?  Apparently nothing.  Bubbles and sidewalk chalk were a close second and third, but stripping down and spraying each other with cold water was definitely the high point of the day.

There’s just something about the squeal of delight that kids give you on a summer day outside that puts you in a good mood.  That and the smell of baby sunscreen, and it’s about the best Mother’s Day present you could ask for.  Follow it all up with a lunch of hot dogs, strawberries, lemonade and some ice cream and I had two happy, sticky boys who will likely give me another wonderful gift – a nice, long nap!
